Author Interview
1. What is the first book that made you cry?
Tears flow easily from me, and frequently.  I am not sure of the first book, but most books do touch me at some point as they unfold that cause my tears to flow.

2. What is your current release or project?
One of my current releases is Legend of Song de Light audio play.  In the night time depth’s of my heart I heard the title, and the idea for Legend of Song de Light was a continual prompt from my heart, something told me to begin, and the story revealed itself the more I wrote.
The stories within Legend of Song de Light
connect, unfold, interweave many character’s stories
needs, feelings, desires, dreams

their threads as two crescent moons
connected under the firelights
that layer the chords, and form the lyrics

all of you entered my world as dawn’s awakening sky of soft palette
my garnet heart melted in iridescence to bloom in sun’s rays
glow in night’s depth as the stars echo the rhythm of my heart
my insides sigh and expand in delight
harmonious blend as our lives
circle the melody

A melody and harmony that continues for one of the characters in Legend of Song de Light that I hold in a special way within my heart, Edwin.  His birthday is April 23rd, and he has a sculptor’s elegant ability to create in his art the details as finely in-tuned heart strings, like the lines within a flower petal.  Notes that sing in the tonal color midnight bronze and soft light peach, to dance in a waltz with music of his favorite duet of piano and flute.
And as Edwin’s song weaves to caress, Legend of Song de Light audio play interweaves within the series of interconnected stories Lovecontu Song de Light Lovecontu that touches at the center of heart’s wave, heart’s song, heart’s breath.

3. How long, on average, does it take you to write a book?
Each book is unique, and typically begin to form well before I put pen to paper.  Once I do begin to write what my imagination holds, it takes about one to two years.

4. How do you select the names of your characters?
My characters names are prompted from the interior of me to either discover their names within our history of names, or within the letters of the alphabet that form a character’s name.

5. What creature do you consider your "spirit animal" to be?
I connect with many animals...butterflies gentle way they float in the air, snow leopard and their soft, intense depth of their eyes, horses and their elegant way, bigfin reef squid and its beautiful way of bioluminescence in the sea, a hummingbird’s dance, eagle’s long wingspan, axolotl and their kind expression, little blue penguin’s precious tenderness, and my list goes on and on.

6. Do you have a favorite scene in Legend of Song de Light?
One of my favorite scenes in Legend of Song de Light audio play is when Edwin sings a note to a lady that is like a sculptor’s music to become an underscore as her dance of a lifetime blooms.

7. What are your top 5 favorite movies?
I like movies that touch the center of my heart with romance, movies that intrigue my mind with their intricate complexities, and movies that somehow include both these elements at the same time.  Because there are so many wonderful creative people, I find it difficult to decide on top 5 favorites.

8. If you were the last person on Earth, what would you do?
I’d prefer not to be the last person on Earth.  There is so much beauty in nature, and in people that I hope we never reach that point, because if I were the last person, my heart would stop.

9. Do you have any advice for aspiring writers?
Something that I struggle with at times is giving myself creative freedom.  Freedom to my imagination to fully exist within my own artistry.  Somehow all that my imagination holds finds its way into my books; however, the path for me to include all these elements is filled with more fears and doubts than I would like.  Fears that my imaginative ideas may not be okay to include.
And while I’m still working on this, I wanted to let any aspiring writers know that if these type of fears and doubts occur for you that you are not alone, and I do believe that what one’s imagination holds is essential.

10. Can you tell us more about your audio plays?
My audio plays are adapted from my audio books of the same name, and layered into pdf files as a heart’s song.

And, written in how my imagination envisions an audio play

The characters are heard
Their interior hearts speak
The volumes of their depth

In the airwaves that float around you
While in attendance in a public venue

The actors are unseen but heard
Their lyrical voices like a heart’s song

As mentioned above in one of my favorite scenes in Legend of Song de Light audio play, this audio play is designed for an actor to sing Edwin’s heart’s song a cappella for his notes to be a continual accompaniment to a lady he loves as the audience hears the dance of the lady’s rhythmic story.
The audio plays are available for everyone to read the stories.  And, for someone who is involved in the production of public performances, and creates a beautiful environment for an audience to hear a story unfold, my audio plays are written for these types of performances.  If interested, the licensing terms are available, and I would be honored to get to discuss further with you, and can be reached by any of the ways noted on my contact page https://kaitlynzq.com/contact
11. Tell us 10 fun facts about yourself! :)
I love the scent of vanilla, the kind that gently lingers in the air, and I love the scent of clove, the warmth of it draws me in.

I can see my imagination dance in the interior of my head.  Sometimes, in the rhythmic beats of tap shoes, other times, like an impromptu jazz, and often with graceful ballet leaps.

I find nature’s unique moments so fascinating and inspirational. Sometimes, tears like waterfalls come from the well inside of me that is unknown, but felt.

One of my favorite times of day is when morning light and the depth of the night sky meet in the horizon.  The sky’s elements held gently at that connection point, and felt within like velvet.
I love soft, gentle colors that includes the ones in the light spectrum and within the deep realms.
Apricots and definitely green apples are favorites of mine.  They each hold such a juicy sweetness.
I love the way instrumental music holds feelings, and carries them within their soundwaves.
Another favorite of mine are oil paintings in the artistic style of felt like nature’s painting.
I want to go to New Zealand one day.
Going to the theatre for plays and dance performances are important to me.  Peoples’ artistry is so beautiful.

Author’s Information

My fictional stories are written from the inside view
of a character’s interior heart-that

beautiful, vulnerable, intimate space
feelings, desires, needs, dreams

a blend of

delicate feather ripples of heart waves
needs, feelings, dreams, desires
quiet, gentle heart strings
tender, continuous
soft, vulnerable air mist
circles, weaves to caress
a sonic sea of heart’s breath

Woven into audio books that are recorded in my voice with a medley of music as a heart’s wave into downloadable mp3 files; audio plays adapted from the audio books, and layered into pdf files like a heart’s song; audio poems that are multiple poems designed to connect to form a story as a heart’s breath; and audio sets that are sets of these interconnected stories with elements from each story that interweave in one another as heart’s wave, heart’s song, heart’s breath.
