My Review
Walker Texas Wife is the first book in a new series by Melissa Storm and K.M. Hodge. It's got mystery, intrigue, a hint of romance, and some serious danger going on. I quite liked it.

Annabeth and her husband Marcus are the newest residents of Herald Springs, which is a small-town filled with gossip-mongers and close-knit friends. It doesn't exactly seem like the type of place someone with a huge secret would want to live. But for Annabeth and Marcus, Herald Springs is where they feel they can settle down... for the time being.

Enter Violeta and Brooke, two best friends who seem to be complete opposites. Violeta is more of a shy, sweet, down-home kind of gal, while Brooke is high-strung and always on the go. Both become curious about their newest residents and want to find out more. Violet takes a liking to Annabeth, but Brooke immediately finds her "undesirable".

Add in the town gossip who's adamant to discover what secrets Annabeth and Marcus may be hiding, and some strange disappearances that point to a terrible crime taking place, and you've got one heck of a book. You won't want to put it down. Trust me.

I've rated Walker Texas Wife 4 stars for a fascinating plot, really well-developed characters, and the ability to make me feel a bevy of emotions with each turn of the page. It's definitely a page-turner, and I highly recommend it.

 Synopsis

Nobody in Herald Springs can believe that their small town served as the scene for a major criminal showdown. With the events of the annual gala behind them, they just want to get back to their normal lives, but the members of the local “drink and gossip club” know the drama is far from over.

Brooke’s got a stalker, Jesse’s got a hacker, Annabeth’s got a criminal mastermind bent on her destruction, and even Vi is being taken for a ride by someone she thought was her friend. If only they could turn to each other for help, things might not be so bad—but with the women at odds with one another and only Jesse in good graces with the rest of the group, that isn’t likely to happen any time soon.

Their world is going to hell in a hand basket, so why not throw a party to brighten everyone’s mood? With Ligia’s help, Brooke arranges a charity beauty pageant the town won’t soon forget, especially when the bad guys show up and attempt to finish what they started earlier that year…

My Review
Texas and Tiaras is the second book in the Book Cellar Mystery series, and it picks up where the first book left off. I would advise reading Walker Texas Wife before starting this one, only so the events in the story make sense.

The group of ladies has sort of fallen to the wayside. Vi is extra pouty because of what happened with Brooke. She's taken to shunning everyone, preferring to hole up in her house and pop pills for the pain. Annabeth has taken up smoking again to deal with the stresses of her job and life. Brooke is dealing with an unexpected bit of news, as well as worrying about what her husband might do when he finds out. And Jesse, their male friend, is trying to cope with new feelings now that his wife seems to be working non-stop.

Throw in some villainous men hell-bent on revenge and a young woman eager to get her business off the ground, and you've got a recipe for all kinds of drama. Complete, utter insanity.

I really enjoyed Texas and Tiaras. It was fun, thrilling, and kept me on the edge throughout the whole thing. By the end, I was so anxious and ready for more. I absolutely love these characters, and the writing always leaves me breathless. I love it!

I think, even though Vi is kind of depressing in the story, she's still my favorite character. She's a loyal friend, even when she's going through a rough patch, and I love her even with all of her faults. She kinda reminds me of myself at times.

I'd definitely recommend the Book Cellar Mystery series if you're looking for something that's exhilarating, suspenseful, and still fun. But don't forget to start with Walker Texas Wife! I give Texas and Tiaras 4 stars.
